Timeline for timetable reviews:

Tuesday 19th May
We are delighted to say that the children have coped exceptionally well with the hours they have been attending this term. With this in mind, after the May half-term break, we will be welcoming all children back to full time hours. Moving forwards, full time hours will be 9am to 2:30pm, in line with standard specialist provision across West Berkshire.

We will contact School Transport to adjust the taxi timings ready for after half term. We would like to thank you for your patience over the past few months and we look forward to welcoming the children back after half term.

Friday 17th April
We are now able to offer hot school dinners as well as picnic bags to all children within the Resource Base from Monday 20th April.

If your child will be having school dinners, please can you ensure that you have ordered these in advance via ParentPay - Leading Cashless Payment System for Schools

By ordering in advance, this gives you the opportunity to discuss and agree meal choices with your child. If you are unable to order online or are experiencing difficulties doing this, please contact the office.

Wednesday 25th March

UPDATE 23rd March - We have reviewed the current timings and groupings and as previously notified, we will be increasing the hours after the Easter holidays.

From Monday 13th April, those pupils who are currently  attending from 9 - 12 will attend from 9 - 1 and those currently attending 12:30 - 3:30 will attend from 10 - 2.

Staggering the start and finish times will allow all pupils to have additional time in school, whilst also allowing the groups to begin to reintegrate and re-establish their relationships throughout the first half of the Summer term.

We will hold another review during the week commencing 18th May and notify you of any changes however we will of course continue to closely monitor and review these arrangements over the coming weeks.

Friday 13th March

UPDATE - Following our review of the Resource Base timings and groupings, there will be some changes to the groups of children which will be shared individually with those parents that are affected.

Timings will remain the same next week with a morning group from 9 till 12 and the afternoon group from 12:30 till 3:30. These timings will remain until the Easter holidays. After Easter we will increase the sessions to 4 hours. More details of these timings will be shared in the next review on Wednesday 25th March.

Next Review - week commencing 18th May

Please note - at each review point we will communicate via email any changes and also update this page. Please ensure you have signed up to ParentPay to ensure you receive all school emails.

Key Dates for the Diary

Friday 27th March - Please note that although the main school is finishing early on the last day of term, the Resource Base home time at 3:30 will remain the same to ensure the afternoon group has the same amount of time in school as the morning group.

Monday 13th April - Start of Summer Term 1

Monday 25th May to Friday 29th May - Half Term

Monday 1st June - Start of Summer Term 2

Tuesday 21st July - Last day of term.

Other Updates

Nurture Resources

Nurture resources are also being sent home this week with your child - please see separate email regarding this.

Online Safety

Please see our updated Online Safety page for advice and guidance on some key online safety topics.

 https://www.kennetvalley.w-berks.sch.uk/Online-safety/

Building

The first phase of the new fencing has been completed, providing a secure outdoor area for pupils to freely access from the far end door of the building and the two classroom doors.

 Sensory Resources

A selection of new sensory resources arrived during half term which have now been set up - some are pictured below.

Thank you also to Carly for the extra sensory items that you were able to secure for the school. The light up cubes have been really popular!

Wheelie Boards

There is a risk assessment already in place for the use of these boards, however it has now been updated and the ropes removed from the boards. The children have been provided with a 'contract' to agree to and sign for using the boards safely and appropriately.

Earwig

Don't forget to check Earwig for regular updates and pictures of what your child has been doing in school. If you are unable to log in, please contact Mrs Prewett.
