EYFS Starters
Welcome to our EYFS
We are delighted that we will be welcoming you to our school in September 2024. At Kennet Valley we are very much a community, and try to consider the needs of every child. I hope your child will be happy here and gain from the extended range of opportunities we offer.
We aim for all children to be fulfilled, confident and independent young people, equipped to make a full contribution to our ever-changing world.
Every child has the right to:
- Be healthy
- Stay safe
- Enjoy and achieve
- Make a positive contribution
- Achieve economic wellbeing
The latest Ofsted inspection in November 2019 rated Kennet Valley a ‘good’ school in all 5 areas. In particular, the inspectors mentioned that ‘children in the Reception class are inquisitive and interested in the tasks planned' and that 'The curriculum is sequenced to build children's knowledge and understanding well. Consequently children can count, write and solve problems accurately.' We were pleased that inspectors recognised the pupils’ positive attitude to learning and that they work hard and behave well. The full report is available to read on both the school and the Ofsted websites.
I trust you will find the information contained on this website of interest and of use. It will give you an idea of how we aim to educate your child, how best you can help and what active part you can play in the life of the school.
Education is a continuous process, which involves both home and school. At Kennet Valley parents and teachers work together and understand each other, to the benefit of the children. You are always welcome to visit the school, and come to discuss your child’s progress.
